DevOps Engineer Intern, Entry Level
Skillzenloop
About the Opportunity
SkillzenLoop is hiring DevOps Engineer Interns for freshers and entry-level candidates who enjoy working with servers, automation, and deployment pipelines. This internship is built around practical DevOps work: configuring Linux machines, packaging applications into containers using Docker, and building the pipelines that move code safely from a developer's laptop to a live server. This role suits candidates who want to build a career in DevOps, cloud engineering, site reliability, or systems administration.
Role Overview
As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will work on structured infrastructure assignments under the guidance of experienced team members. You will learn how modern teams release software quickly without breaking things, and how to find the cause when something stops running.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and maintain Linux servers for development and testing
- Package applications into containers using Docker and manage them with Docker Compose
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Write shell scripts to automate deployments, backups, and routine server tasks
- Monitor server health, logs, and uptime, and report issues early
- Help manage cloud resources on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or DigitalOcean
- Use Git and GitHub for version control and take part in code reviews
- Document setups so anyone on the team can repeat them
Who Can Apply
- Freshers, entry-level candidates, or students pursuing or completing B.Tech, B.E., BCA, B.Sc (CS/IT), MCA, diploma programs, or related degrees
- Self-taught learners who can show their skills through a GitHub profile, home lab, or deployed project
- Candidates interested in cloud, automation, and infrastructure
- Candidates available to work full-time for the internship period
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic Linux command line skills (files, permissions, processes, networking)
- Understanding of Git and how code moves from development to deployment
- Basic idea of how web servers, ports, and DNS work
- A troubleshooting mindset and patience when debugging
- Clear written English for documentation
- A laptop and a stable internet connection for remote work
Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)
- Familiarity with Docker
- Exposure to a cloud platform, Nginx, or Kubernetes
- A GitHub profile, home lab, or a project you deployed yourself
What You Will Learn
- Linux server administration basics
- Containerisation with Docker
- CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance
- Shell scripting for automation
- Monitoring, logging, and incident basics
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for curious, patient candidates who like automating work they would otherwise repeat by hand. If you enjoy figuring out why a system stopped running and fixing it, this internship is a strong starting point.
