Software Engineer Intern

About the Role

The Software Engineer Intern will work closely with the engineering team to design, develop, test, and maintain features for the SwapHeart mobile and web ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code.
• Contribute to back-end services and APIs.
• Debug and resolve issues.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to implement user-facing features.
• Assist in performance optimization.
• Assist in security best practices.
• Assist in integrating AI-assisted matching and other core app functionalities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, and databases.
• Hands-on experience or academic exposure to Software Development and Programming in at least one modern language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript).
• Understanding of Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, server-side frameworks, and integration with mobile applications.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them to real-world codebases.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Bengaluru.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior internship or project experience in mobile or web app development is a plus.
• Interest in consumer apps, online communities, or dating platforms is a plus.
