About the Role
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Student Assistants for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This position is ideal for rising Sophomores and Juniors seeking to pursue a career in medicine or biomedical research and interested in broadening their research experience. Opportunities are for part-time research experience during the academic year and/or full-time positions in the summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists with human research subject recruitment and/or pre-protocol preparatory procedures.
- Assists with data collection and/or data development for research studies.
- Accurately records all data and experiments in a lab notebook and/or in data sheets.
- Assists with maintaining study records and databases.
- Monitors and communicates with the study team to ensure research protocol compliance.
- Assists with preparation of materials for institutional review board submissions.
- Assists in scholarship activity resulting from the research, including analysis and writing for journal articles.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Work Arrangement: Fully on-site.
- Working Hours: Standard Hours 20.00.
- Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (25) pounds.
- Work Environment: Moderate noise environment.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in undergraduate studies at Rutgers University.
- Preferably in a relevant science major (e.g., biological sciences, psychology, neuroscience, social work, economics or similar).
- Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual.
- Ability to independently follow and conduct clinical and/or laboratory-based research protocols with training.
Salary Details
- Minimum Salary: 15.92
- Mid Range Salary: 75.00
- Maximum Salary: 150.00
