Electrical Engineer I (BOS)

About the Role

Shield AI is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the rapid development and deployment of the X-BAT aircraft. This role offers direct mentorship from Senior Electrical Engineers and cross-functional leads, with ownership of a project critical to avionics development. We seek engineers who value first principles engineering and extreme ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own a design that directly impacts the X-BAT system and major flight test milestones, with technical review and professional feedback from a senior engineer mentor.
• Manage the full lifecycle of designs: concept, design, verification, integration, flight test, and manufacturing.
• Conduct circuit design for embedded systems, including analog, digital, power conversion, high-speed, FPGA, MCU, EMI/EMC.
• Perform system integration and verification.
• Engage in environmental testing, qualification, and automation.
• Debug, root cause, and drive resolution for issues.
• Design systems for high-reliability, radiation, aggressive temperature changes, and high magnitude vibration.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience with electrical design software such as Altium or KiCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong technical fundamentals.
• Participation in an engineering team or club.
• Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance is desired.
