Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee in a fast-paced environment, you will use your degree to run a business and solve problems for customers. Penske will provide ongoing training and mentoring to help cultivate the skills and expertise needed to succeed in sales, operations, finance, customer service, and technology. You will collaborate with a driven team to build a solid foundation in sales and operations.

• Pay: $25/hour or $52,000/annually.
• Schedule: Must be able to work holidays and a weekend day, as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Manage inventory of vehicles, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced and dynamic workspace.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree required, with a preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Results-oriented, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• This position is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained, including:
• Annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check.
• Successfully completed DOT Physical.
• Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
• Willingness to travel within the district (customers yards, close geographical area, and training sites).
• Willingness to work the required schedule and at the specific location.
• Completion of Penske employment application, submission to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening are required.
• This position is designated as safety sensitive by the company, requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.

Physical Requirements

• The associate will be required to: read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
• While performing the duties, the associate may be required to stand, walk, and sit.
• The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
• The associate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
