Computer Numerical Control Operator

Role Description

The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for operating and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up machines
• Loading materials
• Selecting appropriate tools
• Adjusting machine parameters to achieve accurate machining results
• Inspecting finished parts
• Performing basic quality checks
• Maintaining production records to ensure consistency and compliance with standards
• Performing routine machine maintenance
• Identifying minor issues
• Collaborating with supervisors and engineers to improve processes, efficiency, and safety on the shop floor

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling
• Practical experience in Machining and Milling processes
• Solid understanding of Quality Control practices in manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CNC programs, and work instructions
• Basic knowledge of CNC controls
• Basic knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
• Basic knowledge of safety procedures
• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work in a team-oriented production setting

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification such as ITI, diploma, or vocational training in mechanical/production engineering or related field
• Prior experience as a CNC operator or machinist in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
