Summer 2027 IT Intern

About the Role

Diamondback Energy is seeking an IT Intern for approximately 12 weeks during Summer 2027 (May – August). This role involves working on an assigned summer project and gaining experience in various business functions within the IT department.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on an assigned, individual IT project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation to Diamondback’s executive team.
• Develop IT skills under the supervision and guidance of an assigned mentor.
• Collaborate with teams across IT and other disciplines to understand operations in an Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company.
• Participate in release management activities and attend daily stand-up calls with IT teams.
• Review key IT controls for cyber security and SOX compliance.
• Interface with other departments to understand their usage of IT systems and processes.
• Provide compliance and administrative support to the department.
• Participate in intern events and philanthropic endeavors in the Oklahoma City community.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Willingness to work in Oklahoma City, OK for the duration of the internship.
• Experience with business functions such as application development, reporting and analytics, data integration, infrastructure and desktop management, and cyber security.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Must be returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester.
• Preferred: GPA of 3.20 or higher.
• Preferred: Extracurricular achievements or prior work experience.
