About the Role

AdventHealth is offering an internship opportunity for individuals passionate about serving their community through gaming and technology. This internship provides an opportunity for patients and families to utilize gaming and technology services, including game consoles, VR, and 3D printing.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and document gaming applications and activities for pediatric patients.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary medical team members, patients, and families.
• Set up, operate, and maintain gaming consoles, controllers, accessories, and related equipment.
• Update gaming content, activities, and branded media for Pediatric Gaming systems.
• Follow hospital image standards, patient privacy requirements, and compassion behaviors when interacting with patients and families.
• Assess the patient and family situation prior to engaging (e.g., get to know the patient and family).
• Host gaming tournaments.
• Set up remote BINGO play.
• Troubleshoot gaming systems.
• Develop games based on patient needs.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Understanding of common gaming devices, such as Play Station, XBOX, and Nintendo Switches.
• Understanding of at least one coding language (ex: Javascript, CSS, HTML, C#, C, C++, etc.).

Qualifications

• Must be a University of Central Florida student.
• Opportunity is not paid.
