About the Role

Goodwill Industries of Akron is seeking an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier. This role is ideal for individuals who are goal-oriented, enjoy interacting with people, and are interested in career development. You will play a vital role in supporting the mission of providing services to the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet every person with a warm smile, providing exceptional customer service.
• Inform customers about the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage participation.
• Assist customers with purchases, operating the cash register and point of sale system accurately and efficiently.
• Complete reports, including donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances.
• Answer phone calls with friendliness and a commitment to customer service.
• Select and price donated goods and textiles, ensuring Goodwill quality control standards are met.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness of all areas.
• Interact with new and regular customers, building rapport through great service.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Proficiency in basic math, computer, and typing skills.
• Ability to count back change accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and foster a strong team atmosphere.
• Ability to promote the agency in a positive manner.
