Solution Engineer, Data Security

About the Role

As a Solution Engineer - Data Security, you will drive data security across the development lifecycle. This role offers opportunities for career growth, business acumen development, technical skill enhancement, and proficiency in solution design and deployment. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through secure, scalable solution design, influencing technical decisions, and accelerating AI applications and agents in their development workflows. The primary objective is to help customers improve data security, modernize applications with AI, and leverage Microsoft's platform effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales with decision makers using demos and PoCs to influence solution design and enable production deployments.
• Lead hands-on engagements such as hackathons, code-with sessions, and architecture workshops to accelerate adoption of Microsoft's developer tools and cloud platforms.
• Build trusted relationships with developers and platform leads, co-designing secure, scalable architectures and solutions.
• Resolve technical blockers and objections, collaborating with product engineering to share insights and improve products.
• Maintain deep technical understanding of data security architectures, solutions/technologies including Microsoft Purview.
• Develop strategies and recommendations to improve client's data security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor Microsoft messaging for data security opportunities.
• Enhance team capabilities for protecting and governing data within the estate and securing data within AI Platforms and Applications.
• Represent Microsoft through thought leadership in developer communities and customer forums.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
• OR a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
• OR 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
• OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States without future employer sponsorship.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
• Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
