Filmmaker (Paid Video Project)
Outlier
About the Role
We are seeking filmmakers and videographers for a paid freelance project to shoot paired, real-camera videos for AI model training. This is flexible, paid freelance work for individuals who can shoot to a precise technical standard.
What to Expect
- Pay: Up to $17 per submission (approximately 1–1.5 hours of work).
- Work Type: Fully remote and flexible schedule.
What You'll Do
Shoot short, raw video sets (10-30 seconds each) in one of two formats:
- Multiple Angles: Use two or more cameras simultaneously to record one continuous performance (10–30 seconds) from clearly different angles. Do not combine angles into one video. No split-screens, no cuts between angles.
- Action Change: Place the camera on a locked tripod and record the same scene twice (10–30 seconds each), with the subject performing a different continuous action in each take. The camera, framing, lighting, and background must be identical in both takes. Only the action changes.
Editing Rules
- All footage must be raw and unedited.
- The only adjustment allowed is trimming or slipping clips to align and match length.
- No warping, time-stretching, or frame blending.
Technical Requirements
Submissions that miss any of these cannot be accepted:
- Resolution: Exactly 1920x1080 (landscape) or 1080x1920 (portrait), not upscaled.
- Codec: H.264, 30 Mbps, 30 fps.
- Audio: Natural sound from the scene on every file, with no added music, voiceover, or spoken counts.
- Motion: Visible motion the whole way through, with no frozen or near-still moments.
- Lighting: Good lighting and neutral white balance. For action change sets, exposure must stay locked across both takes.
- Alignment: All files in a set must line up frame-for-frame at the start, middle, and end.
Who We're Looking For
- Filmmakers and videographers with hands-on shooting experience.
- Comfort trimming and aligning footage in editing software.
- Original footage only, shot by you.
- No minors on camera.
