About the Role
Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - New Graduate to join their team. This role involves creating detailed mechanical designs for refrigeration systems in cold storage and food processing facilities, with an emphasis on technical growth, collaboration, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical rooms, rooftop penthouses, and piping systems for industrial refrigeration.
- Perform engineering calculations including thermal analysis, tolerance dimensions, and structural assessments.
- Ensure all designs comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
- Prepare and submit detailed design drawings to internal teams for review and approval.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases to ensure design accuracy.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOM) and input data into the ERP system.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure correct execution of designs.
- Coordinate with purchasing for timely and accurate procurement of materials.
- Communicate with vendors to clarify part specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks).
- Solid understanding of mechanical and refrigeration engineering principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Occasional travel to job sites may be required.
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires pre-employment and regular drug testing.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.
Preferences
- Experience with sheet metal and pipe fabrication.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) License.
- Interest in obtaining a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Background in refrigeration systems or HVAC/MEP experience.
