About the Role

ADM is seeking a highly motivated, quality applicant to work as a 1:1 preschool associate at Adel Elementary. This is a part-time position, anticipated to be from 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Thursday.

Job Summary

The associate will assist the teacher in supporting specific learning goals by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve appropriate skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or in small groups to help achieve skills and understanding of class material.
• Work with a wide range of various needs, including academic, behavior, and social.
• Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication.
• Guide students toward making appropriate choices and accepting responsibility for their own behavior.
• Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
• Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information regarding an individual student.
• Supervise students outside during arrival, recess, and dismissal.
• May provide lunchroom supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well with staff, parents, and students.

Pay range: $16.36 - $18.16
