About the Role
This is a full-time Military SkillBridge Internship for active-duty military veterans transitioning to a career in finance and commercial banking. The program provides an industry-leading financial modeling certification and places participants in internship roles as Credit Analysts in training.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate business financial health by analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and other data to assess repayment ability.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate lending risk by considering industry trends, market conditions, and borrower credit history.
- Credit Scoring: Quantify creditworthiness using scoring models based on payment history, credit utilization, and credit history length.
- Report Preparation: Compile detailed reports outlining creditworthiness assessments, including financial ratios, risk analysis, and recommendations.
- Communication: Interact with borrowers to gather information and clarify details, and collaborate with colleagues like loan officers and underwriters.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Financial Modeling Certification: Willingness to attend and pass a no-cost virtual financial modeling certification program.
- Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in modeling the three financial statements, formatting cells to industry standards, and increasing operating speed.
Qualifications
- Active Duty Military Leadership Experience: 3-5 years of experience.
- Preference: Combat arms experience is preferred but not required.
- Service Record: Honorable service and exemplary service evaluations.
- Career Interest: Passion to start a career in finance and commercial banking.
- Aptitude: Desire for leadership opportunities in finance.
