About the Role
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer - Aviation to join our Aviation Team in Rochester, NY. This role supports the planning and design of airfield and landside improvements to promote safe, efficient, and reliable airport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of civil engineering solutions for airport infrastructure projects.
- Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates.
- Perform engineering calculations and design tasks in accordance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to projects involving runways, taxiways, aprons, access roads, parking facilities, drainage, and other airside and landside improvements.
- Join field assignments with senior staff to observe existing conditions, support data collection, and gain firsthand exposure to airport design and construction.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Familiarity with engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team.
Qualifications
- No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred.
- Strong theoretical foundation.
- Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus.
