Marketing Assistant

About the Role

Surya Sound Temple is seeking a creative, outgoing, and self-motivated Sales & Marketing Representative to help grow its community and increase awareness. This is a part-time, hybrid position combining remote work with on-site and neighborhood outreach. The role involves promoting the studio throughout the local community, requiring applicants to reside in Bushwick or a nearby neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities

• Design eye-catching flyers, posters, and promotional materials.
• Distribute flyers throughout Bushwick and surrounding neighborhoods.
• Promote weekly classes, workshops, and special events.
• Develop grassroots marketing campaigns and community outreach initiatives.
• Visit local cafés, music stores, community boards, schools, and businesses to build awareness.
• Promote recording, livestreaming, and studio rental services.
• Help increase sales of original products and instruments.
• Assist with social media marketing and online promotion.
• Build relationships with musicians, artists, instructors, and local organizations.
• Help generate new leads and convert them into bookings.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must live in Bushwick or a nearby Brooklyn neighborhood.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or similar design software.
• Ability to design attractive flyers and promotional graphics.
• Comfortable with grassroots marketing and community outreach.
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Passion for music, musicians, and creative communities.

• Musician or producer.
• Photography or videography experience.

• Sales or business development background.

Compensation

• Flat hourly rate.
• Commission on new business generated, including:
• Class registrations.
• Studio bookings.
• Recording and livestreaming services.
• Product sales.
• Partnerships and referrals.
