Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

As a Sales and Operations Management Trainee, you will use your degree to run a business and solve problems for customers in a fast-paced environment. Penske will provide ongoing training and mentoring to build your skills and expertise in sales, operations, finance, customer service, and technology. You will collaborate with a driven team to build a solid foundation in sales and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts.
• Manage a large inventory of vehicles, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Results oriented, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.
• Ability to accept responsibility for own safety and the safety of others.

DOT Regulations & Physical Requirements

• This position is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file.
• Driver qualification file includes: annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
• CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Safety sensitive position requiring ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Associate will be required to: read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
• Associate may be required to stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

• Internship or related work experience in a customer facing role preferred.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Completion of Penske employment application, submission to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening are required.
