Process Automation Engineering Track
Siemens
About the Role
This Development Program is designed for rising and recent engineering graduates for the Process Automation Engineering Track. The program prepares participants for impactful application engineering roles within Siemens Digital Industries Automation.
- Phase 1: 6-month intensive onboarding combining structured training and hands-on project work to develop expertise in the Digital Industries Automation portfolio, accelerate understanding of business strategy and core processes, enhance professional skills, and strengthen engineering and project execution capabilities.
- Phase 2: 12-month immersive phase to deepen technical expertise in industrial process control, gain hands-on experience with engineering and commissioning large-scale systems, and refine customer engagement skills.
- Upon successful completion, participants transition to a designated full-time role as an Application Engineer or Project Engineer on one of the Process Automation Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage in instructor-led training, workshops, and engineering projects to build a strong understanding of Siemens and its DI Automation technology portfolio, while mastering skills to design and deliver innovative and safe automation solutions for customers in process industries (such as chemical, food/beverage, and pharmaceutical).
- Develop, implement, and test Distributed Control System (DCS) applications and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for greenfield facilities, facility expansions, and system modernization initiatives.
- Identify and document system requirements using Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process descriptions, and/or existing control logic.
- Create test specifications, perform simulations, and execute software/hardware demos to validate compliance with customer requirements.
- Support system installation and onsite commissioning activities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Work closely with project managers, project teams, and technical customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project proposals, provide technical calculations and engineering estimates.
- Adhere to quality standards, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction.
