About the Role
Helix is building the intelligence terminal for biopharma capital markets. The Helix Terminal is an AI-native platform designed to help healthcare hedge funds, pharma business development teams, advisory firms, and government and defense organizations track therapeutic pipelines, test investment theses, and forecast regulatory and payer decisions.
As the first Business Development & Go-To-Market Strategy Intern, you will help Helix secure its earliest clients by mapping target markets, identifying key decision-makers, and developing a pipeline of qualified design partners and pilot opportunities. You will work directly with the CEO and influence Helix’s strategy for reaching and winning institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and segment a target list of prospective clients across healthcare hedge funds, pharma business development and competitive intelligence teams, advisory and consulting firms, and government and defense organizations.
- Identify key buyers and decision-makers at target firms and find warm paths to reach them.
- Analyze segment dynamics, including firm structure, purchasing influencers, current tools, research budgeting, and switching motivations.
- Prioritize leads based on fit and likelihood to pilot, and maintain an organized pipeline.
- Support demand validation by preparing for customer discovery calls, synthesizing prospect feedback, and tracking needs and objections.
- Draft and test outreach messaging, track results, and refine messaging.
- Contribute research and recommendations to Helix’s sales, marketing, and growth strategy.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Prior work experience in Go-to-Market Strategy and/or Business Development.
- Resourceful researcher: ability to find decision-maker information when not obvious.
- Structured thinker: capable of organizing market information into clear segments, priorities, and recommendations.
- Strong written communication skills, particularly for cold outreach.
- Comfort with spreadsheets, CRMs, and organized data.
- Persistent, self-directed, and energized by outreach and relationship building.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in business, economics, biology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in biopharma, life sciences, finance, or investment strategy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the organization of hedge funds, pharma companies, consulting firms, or government agencies.
- Experience in sales, business development, consulting, venture capital, or investment clubs.
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, PitchBook, or similar tools.
- Background in competitive athletics, entrepreneurship, or other resilience-demanding settings.
- Interest in AI products and institutional technology adoption.
Logistics
- Stipend: $750-1,000/month
- Hours: Approximately 10-12+ hours/week, flexible.
- Duration: 3 months, with potential for extension and a larger role.
- Location: Remote.
