Produce Team Member (Clerk, Floor Service)

About the Role

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Produce Team Member (Clerk, Floor Service) for a Full-Time position. This role involves supporting the Produce team with various tasks to maintain Whole Foods Market standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare product.
• Maintain the Produce floor and displays.
• Sell product.
• Break down deliveries and stock shelves.
• Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
• Assist Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items.
• Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisor.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Assist with periodic inventory checks.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs effectively, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work.
• Work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Tools and equipment may include: knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• May require use of ladders.

• No prior retail experience required.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
