About the Role
Garmin is seeking a full-time Software Engineer Intern at its Middlebury, CT location. This role involves learning and training to develop software for Garmin's aviation products within a team-oriented environment and under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to develop software in Angular, JavaScript, or other selected languages for Garmin aviation products, following Garmin’s software development methodology with guidance.
- Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
- Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities.
- Learn to perform maintenance activities for existing products, in addition to new product software design.
- Integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience and/or training in languages such as Angular and JavaScript, or other relevant languages.
- Experience and/or training in data structures or object-oriented design methodology.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule).
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Pursuing a master's degree in Geomatics, Aerospace or Software engineering (Desired)
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) (Desired)
- Previous experience working in a team environment (Desired)
- Background in aviation or prior interaction with pilots/flight operations (Desired)
