About the Role

This position is within the Process Diagnostics and Control (PDC) group, focusing on advanced imaging, image processing, and AI algorithms. The role involves working with electronic design data to detect, measure, and classify nanometer-size defects and pattern variations from semiconductor fabrication process steps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize the performance of Data Products through deep understanding of customer use-cases and collaboration with R&D, Algorithms, and Product teams.
  • Extend applicative expertise across multiple data sources (e.g., CAD, design, process, inspection) and the broader PDC product portfolio.
  • Ensure applicative value and readiness of SW and algorithmic solutions prior to and during field deployment.
  • Drive adoption and integrated deployment of Data Product solutions at leading semiconductor fabs worldwide.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex field issues, providing rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Develop utilities and scripts using Python for debugging, workflow automation, and issue isolation.
  • Conceptualize and prototype technical flows to convert multi-source data into new applications and insights.
  • Translate Voice of Customer (VoC) and field learnings into concrete product requirements and roadmap inputs.
  • Explore and validate AI/ML-based approaches to advance PDC's data product capabilities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Proficiency in Python; experience building scripts, tools, or analytical workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and practical experience applying them to data analysis or product development.
  • Comfort with GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) for code generation, debugging, and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, effective with customers, field teams, and R&D engineers.

Qualifications

  • Masters / Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, VLSI, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in semiconductor process and defectivity.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CAD and design-based inspection concepts.
  • Willingness to travel ~50% to leading fabs globally.
