Architect

About the Role

GoodEarth is hiring architects to design and build at Saarang, an eco-village in Peravoor, Kannur.

Key Responsibilities

• Take buildings from first sketch to finished wall.
• Design homes and community buildings at Saarang: site study, concepts, working drawings, details.
• Build them. Be on site most days with masons, carpenters, and engineers.
• Work with the land: contours, water, trees, light, and the monsoon.
• Use local materials: laterite, brick, clay tile, timber.
• Manage drawings, quantities, schedules, and quality checks.
• Iterate with families and craftspeople until the idea is right.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Fluent in AutoCAD and SketchUp (or similar).
• Comfortable sketching by hand.
• Passion for climate-responsive, low-impact building.
• Willingness to live and work in Peravoor, Kannur. (Malayalam is helpful but not required.)

Qualifications

• Architects at two levels: 0–2 years of experience or 2–4 years of experience.
