About the Role
S M Electrical is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and reviewing electrical systems for commercial and domestic projects.
- Preparing technical drawings and documentation.
- Performing load calculations.
- Coordinating with contractors and internal teams.
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and applicable codes.
- Monitoring project progress.
- Supporting installation and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshooting technical issues.
- Contributing to cost and time-efficient project delivery.
- Maintaining clear records.
- Participating in site inspections.
- Providing technical support to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Electrical Engineering
- Electricity fundamentals
- Electrical Design
- Ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Power Systems (analysis, protection, and system reliability)
- Power Distribution (layout planning, load calculations, and equipment selection)
- Project execution

- Commissioning of electrical installations
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on-site.
