Sales and Operations Management Trainee

About the Role

• This is a Sales and Operations Management Trainee position at Penske Truck Leasing.
• The role involves running a business, solving problems for customers, and learning Penske's sales processes, technology, and company culture through training and mentoring.
• You will build a foundation in sales and operations, collaborating with a driven team.
• This is an hourly role with a starting salary of at least $52,000 per year.
• Premium pay is offered for weekend work.
• Advancement opportunities are available nationwide after a 6–9-month training period, including a base pay increase.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop consumer and commercial customer solutions for local and national accounts, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Manage a large inventory of vehicles, balancing fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
• Generate new business leads and foster existing customer relationships.
• Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree required, with a preferred concentration in Business or Marketing.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Results-oriented with attention to detail and good time management skills.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26' box truck.
• Willingness to travel as necessary within the district.
• Ability to work the required schedule and at the specific location.
• Ability to accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others.
• DOT regulated: requires a current driver qualification file, including annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers.
• CDL holders: require DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Qualifications

• Internship or related work experience in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening.
