Finance Analyst, Entry Level

About the Role

An entry-level commercial finance position supporting customer forecasting, profitability analysis, pricing, accrual management, and business reporting within the Home and Personal Care division. This role will impact upper sales and marketing management decision-making through timely and accurate customer and product sales reporting and profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical (50%)

• Prepare monthly customer-level variance reporting; analyze and explain variances for a subset of customers for leadership review.
• Reconcile all relevant accruals within the assigned customer base, ensuring accuracy of accrual setup and quarter-end balances.
• Play a key role in the resolution of customer deductions, including review and approval of cases and working with cross-functional teams to address incorrect claims.
• Build and update daily sales reports and month-end close reporting utilized across the commercial organization.
• Perform assigned controls and maintain documentation in support of SOX and GAAP requirements.

Marketing/Sales/Relationship (40%)

• Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to build P&Ls for new pitches, gathering all relevant information and providing recommendations on pricing to achieve profitability benchmarks.
• Responsible for monthly forecasting for the assigned customer base, building strong communication with sales team partners and exhibiting attention to detail to ensure forecasts are accurate.
• Assist in analysis and partner in problem-solving of excess and obsolete inventory, working alongside sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to maintain healthy inventory levels.
• Support new product development through P&L analysis.
• Serve as the key financial point of contact and owner for the assigned customer base.

Other (10%)

• Perform various ad-hoc reporting as requested by finance leadership or the retail sales team to support the analysis of business operations and profitability.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with PowerPoint and Word.
• SAP experience preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
• Highly refined organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task effectively in a deadline-driven role.
• Creativity in problem-solving.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
