About the Role
The Manager Trainee is a full-time, entry-level position designed to prepare individuals for a leadership role within 84 Lumber. This role offers hands-on training across all aspects of store operations with the goal of promotion to a management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
- Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
- Create material estimates for building projects.
- Safe handling of materials and equipment, including forklift operation.
- Learn and apply principles of business management, including payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis.
- Utilize and enhance skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Manage payroll, invoicing, inventory, and POS Systems.
- Interpret and analyze common financial reports.
- Read blueprints and create material lists.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Full-time schedule (48+ hours/week, overtime included).
- Willingness to relocate for a management position.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No experience is required.
Candidates will work in both indoor and outdoor settings, assisting customers in all weather conditions. This role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 80 pounds), and other physical activities. Potential exposure to machinery and airborne particles.
