About the Role
GalenAI is an AI-native platform for competency-based medical education (CBME). We are looking for a junior backend engineer to build the services behind our platform. You will ship production code from week one with support from senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship backend services and APIs.
- Integrate LLM APIs into tutoring and clinical-case features, and evaluate outputs.
- Own database work: schema design, queries, migrations.
- Write tests, monitor services, and debug production issues.
- Review code and document what you build.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Solid grounding in one backend language: Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Working knowledge of SQL and API design.
- Hands-on experience with AI: LLM APIs, embeddings, RAG, or serious side projects.
