Social Media Trainee

About the Role

The Social Media Trainee will support Waaru’s online presence by assisting in planning, creating, and publishing content across social media channels. This contract role is remote and involves collaborating with the marketing team to schedule posts, engage with followers, and monitor platform performance and trends. The trainee will help optimize social media campaigns, gather content ideas from product updates and customer stories, and maintain consistent brand messaging. Responsibilities also include basic analytics reporting, competitor research, and proposing improvements to content formats and posting strategies.

Qualifications

• Skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing to support campaign planning and performance tracking.
• Skills in Social Media Content Creation and Marketing to develop engaging posts aligned with brand goals.
• Strong Communication skills to interact with internal teams and respond to audience engagement clearly and professionally.
• Basic understanding of major social platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X) and emerging trends.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Interest in AI, SaaS, or WhatsApp-based business tools is an advantage.
• Prior internship or project experience in social media or digital marketing is an advantage.
