Los Angeles, CAFresher1h agovia LinkedIn

About the Role

MoonArq is offering a supervised academic internship for undergraduate students interested in digital marketing, brand storytelling, short-form video, and social media analytics. This is an unpaid academic internship requiring academic credit.

What You Will Learn

Work with a MoonArq mentor to practice creative planning, video editing, and evaluating social content. Learn to connect brand positioning with content decisions and understand engagement metrics through weekly guidance, feedback, and a term-long portfolio project.

Supervised Learning Activities

  • Research relevant social media trends and compare creative approaches across Instagram, TikTok, and similar platforms.
  • Develop sample content calendars, captions, concepts, scripts, and storyboards for mentor review.
  • Edit short-form video drafts using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Observe and practice the content approval, scheduling, and publishing workflow under supervision.
  • Review non-sensitive social media metrics and prepare a brief learning report.
  • Maintain a learning journal and complete a final portfolio, report, or presentation for academic evaluation.

Note: MoonArq's supervisor retains responsibility for final editing, approvals, scheduling, and publication. Interns will not independently manage live accounts, maintain the business's ongoing posting schedule, meet business-critical deadlines, or replace regular staff.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program and able to remain enrolled during the internship.
  • Able to obtain written school approval and enroll in a faculty-supervised, credit-bearing internship, field study, practicum, co-op, independent study, or equivalent course before the start date.
  • Interest in marketing, communications, media, film, design, business, or a related field.
  • Some experience through coursework, class projects, a student organization, or personal creative projects involving video or social media. Professional experience is not required.
  • Clear communication, organization, and openness to feedback.
  • Understanding that this is an unpaid academic internship.

Preferred Skills

  • Conversational Mandarin Chinese and/or Chinese reading and writing skills. Chinese language skills are a plus, not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with short-form video editing, captions, visual storytelling, or basic social media analytics.

Academic Approval and Schedule

Selected candidates will receive a conditional placement letter and learning plan for school review. MoonArq requires written department or faculty approval, proof of course enrollment, and any required work authorization before any work begins. Dates, duration, weekly learning hours, and learning objectives will be agreed upon with the student and school. The program will accommodate academic commitments and be limited to the period needed for agreed learning objectives.

Application

Submit your resume and, if available, a link to existing class, student organization, or personal video/social media projects. Include your school/program, possible internship course or credit arrangement, availability, and any Chinese language skills.

Do not create new unpaid work or disclose confidential material for your application.
