Automation Test Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineering (QE) Automation Engineer with hands-on experience in manual testing and test automation for web applications and APIs. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in software testing, automation frameworks, and programming, along with a keen interest in exploring AI-driven testing approaches. You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and quality engineering teams to improve test coverage, accelerate testing cycles, and deliver reliable, high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for web applications and APIs.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Participate in test planning, effort estimation, requirement analysis, and release activities.
• Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools and validate JSON responses.
• Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects, collaborating with development teams on resolution.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Explore AI-powered testing solutions, including intelligent test generation, self-healing automation, visual testing, and predictive test analytics.
• Analyze test results and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to test documentation, automation standards, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• 0-10 years of hands-on experience in Quality Engineering, QA, or Test Automation.
• Strong understanding of manual testing, test case design, SDLC, and STLC.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience in web application testing and REST API testing.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for database validation.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adopt AI-assisted testing tools and intelligent automation techniques.

Good to Have

• Exposure to AI-powered testing tools or AI-based test case generation.
• Knowledge of self-healing automation, visual testing, or intelligent test analytics.
• Basic understanding of performance testing.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services domain.
• Familiarity with data-driven quality metrics and continuous testing practices.
