About the Role

Assistant / Associate Professor, Department /School: Pharmacognosy, GITAM School of Pharmacy, Visakhapatnam.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and grade students' work, including work performed in design studios.
• Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students.
• Ensure students learn proper grammar, writing, and reading comprehension, and other assigned courses.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Guide class discussions.
• Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media.
• Research topics in area of expertise: Write articles, books or other original materials in area of expertise.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
• Evaluate effectiveness of educational programs.
• Develop instructional objectives.
• Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internship, and research work.
• Supervise student research or internship work.
• Design, develop and deliver a range of programmes of study (sometimes for entirely new courses) at various levels.
• Review course content and materials on a regular basis, updating when required.
• Develop and apply appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
• Ensure course design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the university and department.

Qualifications

• PhD from Accredited University.

Experience

• Assistant Professor: Minimum teaching experience required (specific duration not stated).
• Associate Professor:
• Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience.
• Of which, at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience after a Ph.D.
