About the Role
Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash-and-carry foodservice distributor providing Savings, Selection & Service to independent restaurants, caterers, and not-for-profits. This position is for a Stocker - Freezer and is classified as Full/Part Time, Hourly, with 8-10 Hour Shifts. This role is part of a Union.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, courteous, and friendly customer service.
- Stocks product on shelves by removing boxes from pallets, placing them on shelves, and opening boxes to re-stock single items.
- Organizes and front faces items on shelves.
- Performs inspections to meet HACCP regulations.
- Assists in reviewing inventory for product rotation daily to prevent shrinkage and damages.
- Ensures shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the warehouse by a regular maintenance schedule including scrubbing and cleaning underneath pallets.
- Continuously reviews department floors for safety hazards, promptly and safely handles spills, and removes trash such as plastic wrap, ties, and wood pieces from the floor.
- Works with Hi-Lo operators to keep the selling floor stocked and safe by promptly returning overstock pallets to overhead reserves.
- Informs supervisors of any low stock/out-of-stock merchandise.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours/day.
- Frequently turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and/or bending.
- Frequently pushing/pulling objects 500 to 1,500 lbs.
- Frequently lifting/carrying objects more than 60 lbs.
- Requires frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures.
- Awareness of equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters).
Qualifications
- Experience in a Stocker role is implied by the job title and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the role.
- May be required to work in other departments as needed.
- Performs other work-related duties as required and assigned.
