This role is hands-on, involving planning, executing, and analyzing at-sea test events for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASV), and subsea systems. You will be the link between engineering and the ocean environment, validating hardware and software performance in demanding operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a dynamic team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of AUV/ASV design, integration, and test efforts.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs / ASV and subsea systems in the field.
  • Lead day-to-day local operations for multiple AUVs / ASV and subsea platforms, including pre-mission testing, launch and recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis.
  • Deploy globally in support of maritime operations from a variety of support vessel types.
  • Write, review, and execute test plans during sea testing.
  • Coordinate test execution with 3rd party vendors, partners, and logistics companies.
  • Author detailed daily operational test reports to document the execution of efforts to test and evaluate Anduril maritime platforms and new capabilities.
  • Support software UI design feedback for maritime systems.
  • Participate in the generation of user documentation for AUV and subsea operations, including user guides and mission planning guides.
  • Contribute to routine design reviews of the platform under test to improve operability and reduce learning curve for at-sea operations.
  • Contribute to next-generation designs and features for maritime products, from identifying areas for improvement to leading test and evaluation efforts for new technology rollouts.
  • Participate in day-to-day offshore test operations, including supporting multiple nearshore sea test days per week.

  • Returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Ability to complete a 12-week in-person internship in one of our offices in summer 2027.
