Website Design Intern

About the Role

Uprise Labs is seeking a Website Design Intern to help Detroit-area nonprofits by building and refining their websites. This is a learning role focused on turning design instincts into real web development skills using Squarespace. You will work alongside passionate volunteers on meaningful projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and refine Squarespace websites for Detroit-area nonprofits.
• Translate design instincts into functional on-screen layouts.
• Collaborate with volunteers across design, marketing, and strategy.
• Support organizations focused on environmental stewardship, neighborhood development, and animal welfare in Metro Detroit.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• A sharp eye for design and attention to detail.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, volunteer-driven environment.
• Squarespace (will be learned).
• Experience with design tools like Canva, Figma, or Adobe is a plus, not a requirement.
• Experience with website platforms is a plus, not a requirement.
