New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN)

About the Role

This is a New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Advanced Heart Failure Cardiac Unit at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), a flagship hospital of Atrium Health. The unit is a 19-bed intermediate cardiac unit, including 14 high-acuity beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio in high-acuity settings is 3:1.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Specialized Care Provided

The unit provides specialized care for complex cardiac patients, including those requiring:

• Invasive hemodynamic monitoring (PA/Swan-Ganz catheters)
• Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
• Pre and post–heart transplant management
• Bedside sustained low-efficiency dialysis (SLED)
• Inotropic therapy management
• Long-term management of advanced cardiac devices.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Schedule Details

• Full-time position.
• 3, 12-hour night shifts per week.
• Holiday/Weekend rotation.
• A sign-on bonus is available to applicants who have not received a sign-on bonus from the company for another role within the past 24 months.

Pay Range

• $38.20 - $57.30
