PLC Programmer Intern

About the Role

Pravaak Technologies builds condition monitoring for industrial machinery. We instrument equipment at ports, plants, and pipelines, pull signals continuously, and flag degradation before it turns into downtime. Our current focus is marine loading arms: expensive, safety-critical, and almost never monitored properly.

This is a 6-month internship, structured as a college capstone. Interns work on live systems.

Project

Design and commission the PLC control and data-acquisition layer for marine loading arm health monitoring: reading sensor data off the machine, getting it into our platform reliably, and validating it against known machine behaviour. You will own this end to end.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing and debugging PLC logic (ladder, function block) on Siemens / Allen-Bradley / Delta
• Debugging issues with sensor updates or communication link drops
• Reading control and electrical schematics, and keeping documentation accurate
• Getting PLC data into our monitoring platform cleanly
• Participating in code reviews and weekly reviews
• Preparing a final write-up

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience writing PLC logic (coursework, competition, internship, personal project)
• Ability to read electrical or control schematics and follow signal paths
• Understanding of sensors, actuators, control loops, and at least one industrial comms protocol
• Clear written communication for documentation
• Pursuing or recently finished a degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or similar.

Internship Details

• Duration: 6 months
• Stipend: ₹5,000/month
• Format: Remote, 20–25 hrs/week
• Deliverables: Completion certificate, written recommendation, college paperwork handling, mentor sign-off, mid-term evaluations, reports, faculty review calls.
