Software Engineer Intern

About the Role

We are hiring a Software Engineer. The ideal candidate can take a design document and direction and ship features end-to-end, quickly and with minimal supervision. A strong interest in personal AI assistants is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Ship features end-to-end, from a design document and direction, with minimal back-and-forth.
• Build the agent, including tool calling, browser automation, email and message parsing, and memory.
• Own the backend, including data models, services, integrations, and deployment.
• Move fast, accepting pragmatic architecture and tech debt as long as features are shipped fast and bug-free.

What We're Looking For

• Agency: Ability to take a goal and independently achieve it, unblocking yourself and delivering functional results.
• Agent/Harness Engineering: Experience building the system around an AI model, not just calling its API. This includes tool calling, memory, context management, and ensuring agent reliability across long, multi-step tasks.
• Bias Toward Shipping: A strong preference for delivering features quickly and without bugs, even if the underlying code is scrappy.

• Experience building your own assistant, or working with OpenClaw or Hermes (or building your own version).

• A personal assistant on WhatsApp, Telegram, or iMessage that reads your email and calendar and sends you proactive texts.
• A fork of OpenClaw or Hermes with custom skills, or your own agent built from scratch with tool calling and memory.
• A browser agent capable of performing a complete chore end-to-end, such as finding products and filling a shopping cart.
