Apprentice Electrician

About the Role

The Apprentice Electrician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Shillong. The apprentice will assist qualified electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This position is designed to provide structured learning, allowing the apprentice to develop practical skills and progress toward greater responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
• Follow electrical diagrams.
• Handle basic wiring.
• Support routine inspections.
• Help identify and resolve electrical issues under supervision.
• Maintain tools and work areas.
• Comply with safety procedures.
• Document work performed as required.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of electricity and basic electrical concepts.
• Ability to support general electrical work, including wiring and installation tasks.
• Skills in maintenance & repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting abilities to help identify and address electrical faults.
• Interest in or exposure to electrical engineering principles and safe work practices.
• Willingness to learn from experienced technicians and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to work on-site in Shillong and perform physically active tasks, including standing, lifting, and using hand tools.
• Strong attention to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training or enrollment in an electrical trade program is an advantage.
