Data Engineer

About the Role

The Data Engineer will work on designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure that support FDE School’s learning platforms and business operations. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves collaborating with engineering, product, and academic teams to collect, transform, and organize data for reporting, analytics, and AI-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement ETL processes.
• Optimize data models and data warehousing solutions.
• Ensure data quality and reliability.
• Support data-driven decision making.
• Contribute to system performance improvements.
• Contribute to documentation.
• Contribute to best practices for data governance and security.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with SQL.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Scala).
• Experience with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) is beneficial.
• Experience with modern data tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow) is beneficial.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and privacy best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering skills, including experience with building scalable data pipelines and working with modern data platforms.
• Skills in data modeling and data warehousing to design efficient schemas and support reliable storage and retrieval of structured data.
• Skills in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from multiple sources and ensure clean, consistent datasets.
• Skills in data analytics to interpret data, generate insights, and collaborate with stakeholders on data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
