Medical Coding Intern

About the Role

Crossing Infotech is inviting applications for the position of Medical Coding Intern. This internship is suitable for individuals interested in healthcare documentation, medical terminology, and medical coding processes. Interns will gain an understanding of how clinical information is reviewed and translated into standardized medical codes under appropriate supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing sample medical records and healthcare documentation.
• Learn basic medical terminology and medical coding guidelines.
• Understand ICD-10-CM and other commonly used coding systems.
• Support the identification of relevant diagnosis and procedure information in training cases.
• Check documentation for completeness and consistency.
• Assist in maintaining coding-related records and reports.
• Learn about healthcare billing and revenue cycle management.
• Follow confidentiality standards while handling training materials.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic understanding of healthcare terminology or interest in medical coding.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Ability to read and understand written medical information.
• Good communication and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to learn coding standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Students or graduates from Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Zoology, or related healthcare fields.
• Candidates with a medical coding or healthcare documentation course are preferred.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM is an advantage.
• Freshers interested in healthcare administration and medical coding are welcome.
