Junior Designer

About the Role

Design Nook – Design and Build Solutions is a growing creative practice focused on end-to-end design and execution services, working on projects ranging from interior spaces to custom-built solutions. The company values collaboration, clear communication, and a hands-on approach. This is a full-time, on-site Junior Designer role based in Chandigarh, India.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior team members with concept development, layout and plan creation, and preparation of presentation materials.
• Assist in drafting and detailing.
• Create mood boards.
• Help select materials and finishes.
• Update design documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.
• Ensure design intent is clearly communicated.
• Maintain project files.
• Contribute ideas in design discussions.
• Learn to manage tasks within timelines and quality standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational skills in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools).
• Basic proficiency with presentation tools such as PowerPoint or Keynote.
• Ability to create clear drawings, layouts, and simple 3D visualizations, with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Strong sense of aesthetics.
• Basic understanding of space planning.
• Interest in materials, finishes, and construction details.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to take feedback, ask clarifying questions, and work effectively in a team setting.
• Organizational and time-management abilities.
• Willingness to learn on-site processes.
• Willingness to visit project locations when required.
• Willingness to develop a practical understanding of design-to-build workflows.
• Prior internship or project experience in design or construction-related environments is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Relevant educational background such as a diploma or degree in interior design, architecture, industrial design, or a related field.
