Tax Intern, Corporate Income Tax

About the Role

This is a paid internship position within the Corporate Income Tax department at Compass Group USA. The internship will provide valuable experience in a corporate environment and assist with the day-to-day operations of a large corporate tax department.

• Duration: May 17th, 2027 - August 6th, 2027
• Hours: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• Location: Charlotte, NC
• Type: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare corporate state and local income and franchise returns, extension requests, and estimated payments.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation to support various tax return calculations and filing positions.
• Respond to income tax inquiries and assessments.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Assistance with various tasks using spreadsheet models.
• Assistance with various tasks using tax software.
• Assistance with various tasks using accounting ERP systems.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Qualifications

• Must be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student in an accounting or similar program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail and organization with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Self-directed, proactive, and curious.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing factors and conditions.
• Interest in the hospitality and service industry.
• Can-do attitude.
• Demonstrate awareness, understanding, and skills necessary to work in a diverse environment.
