R&D Graduate Intern

About the Role

Aldevron is seeking an R&D Graduate Intern for a 10-week paid, on-site summer internship program in Madison, WI. This immersive experience focuses on functional learning through challenging project work, leadership engagement, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. The program concludes with a report-out presentation to organizational leaders. Successful interns may be considered for full-time roles upon graduation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general research laboratory activities (following protocols or SOPs) under moderate supervision.
• Assist in developing innovative methods or products to support business needs.
• Design and execute experiments, interpret data, and communicate results at team meetings.
• Perform expression screens or experiments to produce proteins of interest at various scales.
• Purify recombinant proteins using automated chromatography systems.
• Characterize in-process samples using methods including, but not limited to: OD determination, metabolite profiling, SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC, aSEC, LAL assay, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, dynamic and static light scattering, and in vitro biochemical assays.
• Complete project plans according to specifications, including timeline and budget.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Recombinant protein expression and purification experience.
• Exposure to one or a combination of the following:
• Automated single-use or stainless-steel bioreactor systems and control software.
• Protein expression systems and/or aseptic technique.
• AKTA systems and unicorn software.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related life science discipline.
