Cashier

About the Role

The cashier is the smiling face at the register, guiding the Nando's experience. They accurately manage cash and credit card transactions, balance the register, and are menu experts who guide customer selection. Cashiers are quick, efficient, warm, and gracious guides who work with the team to exceed guest expectations and provide the Nando's experience. Full-time and part-time hours are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately manage cash and credit card transactions.
• Balance the register at the end of the shift.
• Act as a menu expert, guiding customer selection.
• Accurately enter customer orders into the register.
• Work with the team to exceed guest expectations and provide the Nando's experience.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Food and beverage knowledge.
• Knowledge and comprehension of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Basic English language and professional communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Able to independently lift to 15lbs for an extended period.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs with food items and dishes throughout the shift.
• Must be able to walk and/or stand for 8-10 hours per day.
• Hand-eye coordination.
• Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping.
• Pushing and Pulling.
• Lifting overhead.
• Must be able to climb stairs in restaurants that have multiple levels.

Compensation

• Competitive base wage plus average of $3-$4 (weekdays) and $4-$6 (weekends) in tips per hour worked.

Pay Ranges

• Washington, DC: $18.40 - 20.00 per hour
• Virginia: $13.00 - 18.00 per hour
• Maryland: $15.00 - 19.00 per hour
• Illinois: $15.00 - 19.00 per hour
• Georgia: $13.00 - 18.00 per hour
• Texas: $13.00 - 18.00 per hour
