Associate Finance Controller

About the Role

Maersk is a global leader in integrated logistics. This role is within Accounting Operations, which oversees day-to-day financial transactions with accuracy and in compliance with regulations, accounting principals, and standards. It covers cost accounting, budget accounting, and accounts payable/receivable, billing & invoicing roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day financial transactions with accuracy and in compliance with regulations, accounting principals and standards.
• Cost accounting:
• Allocating and analyzing direct and indirect costs.
• Actual vs. budgeted cost variance analysis.
• Budget accounting:
• Developing and monitoring annual revenue/expense budgets for the purpose of controlling funds and measuring operating results.
• Accounts payable / Accounts receivable, billing & invoicing roles.
• Working independently within defined boundaries and guidelines in a specific area, but will need supervision and support on more complex tasks.
• Applying practical methods and techniques, work procedures and processes.
• Solutioning through a choice between known alternatives, within the area of expertise.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Previous work experience in a related area, or practical knowledge obtained via advanced education.
• Ability to execute specialized work to support operations.
• Ability to make departures from established processes to resolve problems.
