About the Role
- This is a full-time, on-site Junior Architect role based in Kochi, Kerala.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of architectural, interior, and landscape projects from concept to detailed documentation, aligned with Studio Algae’s biophilic and climate-responsive approach.
- Prepare drawings and 3D models.
- Assist with design iterations.
- Conduct site studies.
- Support material selection that responds to local climate and context.
- Coordinate with senior team members, consultants, and vendors.
- Contribute to presentations.
- Help ensure design intent is maintained during project execution.
- Assist with basic project coordination.
- Assist with documentation updates.
- Assist with adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design.
- Ability to translate concepts into clear drawings and spatial solutions.
- Familiarity with Software Development and Integration concepts as they relate to digital workflows, design tools, or building information modeling (BIM) environments.
- Basic Project Management skills, including task planning, documentation organization, and coordination.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, or similar) and presentation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).
- Strong visual and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site studio environment.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and grow within a design practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Portfolio demonstrating interest in biophilic, climate-responsive, or sustainable design.
- Understanding of tropical architecture, local building materials, and construction practices in Kerala is an advantage.
