About the Role
The remote UI/UX Designer Intern role offers the opportunity to support the design and optimization of Shopify-based ecommerce experiences for DTC brands. This is an internship position designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world UI/UX challenges in a remote, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with user interface design.
- Creating mockups and visual assets.
- Contributing to user flows and wireframes.
- Participating in design reviews.
- Developing interactive prototypes.
- Collaborating with product and development teams to refine user experiences.
- Supporting front-end implementation by preparing design specifications and assets.
Qualifications
- Strong user experience design skills, including User Experience Design (UED) and understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Ability to create effective mockups and visual design elements that align with brand guidelines and project goals.
- Experience with prototyping tools and workflows for building interactive prototypes and testing design concepts.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a design, HCI, computer science, or related program is preferred.
