Domestic Tax Intern (January 2027)

About the Role

This is a Domestic Tax Intern position at Clarios, starting in January 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the Tax Managers.
• Assist with tasks related to international and domestic tax compliance, tax planning, tax reporting, tax controversy, and transfer pricing.
• Assist with U.S. tax compliance duties related to international and domestic operations.
• Assist with the preparation of tax return calculations and documentation, including support for forms 1120, 1065, 5471, 8865, 8858, and state income tax returns.
• Assist with state income tax notice resolution and documentation.
• Compile and analyze financial information and research tax filing positions.
• Assist in the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of ongoing tax processes.
• Assist with tax planning projects as needed, from design and implementation to execution and documentation.
• Support with components of the global tax provision process.
• Assist with transfer pricing duties related to calculations, intercompany agreements, and documentation.
• Learn to work with non-tax corporate and operational functions such as legal, treasury, and accounting.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field.
• Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
• Duration: Part-time starting January 2027. Full-time starting Summer 2027.
• Working Arrangements: Hybrid internship – requires a quiet workspace away from interruptions, with the option to work in the office. Must maintain regular contact with supervisor/team via virtual methods.
