VFX Compositor

About the Role

The VFX Compositor at Studio 51 will be responsible for integrating live-action footage, CG elements, matte paintings, and effects layers to create seamless final shots for film, television, and advertising projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and refine composite scenes.
• Perform color matching of plates and CG.
• Enhance lighting and depth within shots.
• Ensure continuity across sequences.
• Collaborate with CG, lighting, animation, and production teams to interpret creative direction.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Deliver shots on schedule.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Autodesk Maya (including working with rendered passes and CG assets)
• Industry-standard compositing software (e.g., Nuke, After Effects, Fusion) and related tools.

Qualifications

• Strong compositing skills, with experience integrating multiple visual elements and managing complex shots.
• Experience with lighting for VFX and an understanding of how lighting affects composition and realism.
• Familiarity with animation workflows and pipelines.
• Comfort working with emerging media and technologies.
• Strong visual sense and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret storyboards and creative briefs.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
• Relevant diploma or degree in VFX, Animation, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Exposure to game development or interactive media pipelines is an advantage.
